The four acre wholesale pot-in-pot nursery was started in 2006 as a diversification to the cattle and turkey operations. There are spaces for approximately 2,000 trees. The pot-in-pot growing system consists of a socket pot that is placed in the ground. The tree is planted in another pot and then placed inside the socket pot. Water and fertilizer is provided through an irrigation system. When the plant is ready to be sold, the inner pot is pulled from the socket pot and the tree is ready to be transported. This system makes the trees available to retailers throughout the year.
